Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse Practitioners blend clinical expertise in diagnosing and treating health conditions with an added emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion. Nurse Practitioners bring a holistic perspective and personal touch to health care. Nurse Practitioners complete a master's or doctoral degree program and have advanced clinical training beyond their initial professional registered nurse preparation. Nurse Practitioners undergo a rigorous national certification process, periodic peer review, clinical outcome evaluations, adhere to a code for ethical practices, and engage in professional development to maintaining clinical competency.

What healthcare services are provided by a Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse Practitioners provide advanced primary and specialty care for all types of patients. Nurse Practitioners are trained in the management of a variety of acute and chronic conditions as well as health maintenance. Autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, Nurse Practitioners assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, make diagnoses and work with patients to develop treatment plans. Nurse Practitioners prescribe medications, refer patients to other providers as appropriate, and focus on health education and counseling.

Why does our community need Best Life Wellness?

Greenwood has many excellent healthcare providers, but there are not enough of them to meet the needs in our community. Our mission is to fill the gap in our community and provide “the well care you deserve”. You deserve care in a way that meets YOUR needs, not ours. We provide options to work around your life schedule. We have visits in the evenings and on weekends. You can come to the office or you can complete a virtual visit from the comfort of your home. We also offer in-home visits and unique community-based programs.

I already see a great provider! How can Best Life Wellness help ME?

We see our local healthcare providers as partners, not competitors, in the care of the Greenwood community! We are not seeking to replace your established provider relationships, but understand that accessing care WHEN and WHERE you need it can be a challenge. Our goal is to fill any gaps in accessing care to meet your needs.
